We promote community activism through involvement, with membership in the Greater San Diego Business Association and the San Diego Pride Parade.
We at Rhoads & West practice in a variety of legal arenas including Civil Rights and Wrongful Termination. Our attorneys also counsel gay and lesbians in the newly evolving legal landscapes surrounding domestic partnership law. Under California's new law AB 205 (effecitve January 2005), family law rules will apply to all California-registered domestic partners. Registering under the law allows same sex couples more rights than ever before, including for example the right to health insurance benefits from a partner's employer if the employer offers such benefits to spouses. But AB 205 also poses new questions and financial risks.
